Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs

Ingredients

3 lbs pork ribs, cut into individual ribs
1 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instruction

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking tray with foil and lightly grease it.

Season the ribs with salt and black pepper. Arrange them in a single layer on the tray.

In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes.

Pour half of the sauce over the ribs and coat evenly. Reserve the remaining sauce for glazing.

Cover the tray with foil and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes until the ribs are tender.

Remove the foil and brush the ribs with the reserved sauce.

Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and roast for 15 to 20 minutes, turning once, until sticky and caramelized.

Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Method

The ribs are first slow-baked to make them tender and juicy. After that, they are glazed with a rich honey garlic sauce and roasted at high heat to create a sticky caramelized coating. This method gives the ribs deep flavor and a glossy finish.

Marinate the ribs overnight for deeper flavor.

Brush extra sauce during the final roasting stage for a thicker glaze.
