Soursop Leaf Tea

Ingredients

  • 10 fresh or dried soursop leaves (washed thoroughly)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) of water
  • Optional:
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • A slice of fresh ginger
    • Lemon juice to taste

Method

  1. Rinse the soursop leaves well under running water.
  2. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the 10 leaves.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 7–10 minutes.
  5. Remove from the heat and let steep for another 5 minutes.
  6. Strain the tea into a cup.
  7. Add honey, ginger, or lemon if desired.
  8. Drink warm.

Serving

  • 1 cup per day is generally considered a moderate traditional amount.
  • Avoid excessive consumption, especially over long periods.
