Salisbury Steak with Onion Gravy – Don’t Lose This Recipe

Ingredients

Steaks
500 g ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
Salt and black pepper to taste

Gravy
2 cups beef broth
1 cup mushrooms sliced
1 small onion sliced
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter or oil
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined
Shape the mixture into oval patties

Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until browned
Remove the patties and set aside

In the same pan, add butter or oil and sauté sliced onions and mushrooms until soft and lightly browned

Sprinkle in the flour and stir well for about 1 minute

Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps
Let the gravy simmer until thickened

Return the patties to the pan and spoon gravy over them
Cover and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until the patties are fully cooked

Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice and extra gravy on top
