Ingredients
1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese ravioli
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for about 3 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5–7 minutes.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Add a layer of frozen ravioli over the sauce.
- Spoon more meat sauce over the ravioli and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers (ravioli, sauce, cheese) until ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the final layer.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
