Homemade Big Mac

Ingredients
For the Beef Patties:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Big Mac Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp French dressing
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
For Assembling the Big Mac:
- 3 sesame seed hamburger buns (use the bottom bun for the middle layer)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 6 slices of dill pickles
- 2 slices American cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape each into thin patties slightly larger than the buns.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Beef Patties:
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are fully cooked.
- Prepare the Big Mac Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together all the sauce ingredients (mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika).
- Stir well to combine and set aside.
- Assemble the Big Mac:
- Toast the buns lightly on the skillet.
- Spread a generous amount of Big Mac sauce on the bottom bun and the middle bun.
- On the bottom bun, layer some shredded lettuce, a slice of American cheese, one beef patty, some chopped onions, and 3 dill pickle slices.
- Place the middle bun on top of this layer, sauce side up.
- Repeat with the middle bun: add more shredded lettuce, the second slice of American cheese, another beef patty, chopped onions, and the remaining pickle slices.
- Top with the final bun.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve immediately with your favorite side of fries or a cold drink.
Tips
- For a more authentic taste, try to find the thinnest hamburger buns available.
- You can make the Big Mac sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- If you prefer, you can also grill the patties for an added smoky flavor.
