Ingredients
8–10 chicken drumsticks
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. This helps the skin become crispy while baking.
- Place the drumsticks in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder. Toss well so the chicken is evenly coated.
- Arrange the drumsticks on the baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove the tray from the oven and brush each drumstick generously with BBQ sauce.
- Return the chicken to the oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the sauce becomes sticky and the chicken is fully cooked.
- For extra caramelization, broil the drumsticks for 2–3 minutes at the end (watch carefully so they don’t burn).
