Colored Deviled Eggs Full Recipe
Ingredients
12 large eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons pickle juice
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Food coloring (assorted colors such as pink, blue, purple, and green)
1 tablespoon white vinegar for each color
1/2 cup water for each color
Instructions
- Boil the Eggs
Place the eggs in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let the eggs sit for 10–12 minutes. - Cool and Peel
Transfer the eggs to an ice bath and let them cool completely. Peel the shells carefully. - Slice and Separate
Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Arrange the empty egg whites on a tray. - Color the Egg Whites
In separate bowls or cups, mix 1/2 cup water, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and several drops of food coloring. Stir well.
Place the egg white halves into the colored water. Let them soak for 5–15 minutes, depending on how vibrant you want the color.
Remove and place them on paper towels to dry completely. - Make the Filling
Mash the egg yolks with a fork until smooth.
Add mayonnaise, pickle juice, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste. - Fill the Eggs
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the colored egg white halves. - Chill and Serve
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Serve cold.
