Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup crushed pineapple with juice

1/2 cup milk

For the topping

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 tablespoons butter

1 cup pineapple chunks or slices

Optional frosting

1/2 cup heavy cream

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and lightly flour a round or square cake pan.

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract.
