  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cold water (or milk for richer taste)
  • Oil for frying

Optional sauce (like in the picture):

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prep the cauliflower
  • Wash and cut the cauliflower into small florets.
  • Pat dry with a paper towel.
  1. Make the batter
  • In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Add cold water gradually and whisk until smooth (like pancake batter).
  1. Heat the oil
  • Heat oil in a deep pan to about 180°C (350°F).
  1. Coat and fry
  • Dip each cauliflower piece into the batter.
  • Fry in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  1. Extra crisp (optional)
  • For extra crunch, fry them a second time for 1–2 minutes.
  1. Make the sauce
  • Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
  1. Serve
  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley (optional).
  • Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Tips

  • Add a pinch of chili flakes for heat
  • Use sparkling water instead of regular water for lighter, crispier batter
  • You can also bake at 220°C (425°F) for 25–30 minutes or air-fry for a healthier version
