Homemade Cinnamon Rolls (Soft & Fluffy)
Ingredients
For the dough
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup melted butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the filling
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup softened butter
For the glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and knead until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread softened butter over the dough.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the butter.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log (like in the picture).
- Cut into even rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
- Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
