Baked Apple Fritters (Quick & Easy)

Baked Apple Fritters (Quick & Easy)

Introduction
Baked apple fritters are a delicious and lighter version of the classic fried fritters. They are soft on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and filled with sweet apples and warm cinnamon flavor. Baking them instead of frying makes the recipe easier and less messy while still giving you a comforting homemade treat perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients
2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Fold in the chopped apples and stir until they are evenly distributed through the batter.

Scoop small portions of batter onto the prepared baking sheet using a spoon, forming small mounds and leaving space between them.

Bake for about 15 to 18 minutes, or until the fritters are golden and cooked through.

If using the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters.

Let them cool slightly before serving.

Tips
Use sweet apples like Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp for the best flavor.
Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth and aroma.
These fritters taste best warm but can also be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
