Easter Blossoms Cookies

Ingredients
½ cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Strawberry Hershey’s Kisses (unwrapped)
Pastel sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg, then mix in milk and vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Roll each ball in sprinkles if desired.
  8. Place on baking sheet and gently flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  10. Remove from oven and immediately press a strawberry Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  11. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Tips

  • Don’t overbake — they should stay pale and soft
  • Chill dough 20 minutes if it’s too sticky
  • You can use any flavor Kisses (chocolate, white chocolate, etc.)
